Do you know the difference between truth and lies? When writing the Church, the author of 1 John had one goal in mind: to help believers know the difference between truth and lies (1 John 2:21). As a follower of Jesus, you’d be surprised to know that you already have what you need to discern the difference.

Holiness is not a concept that we can so easily wrap our minds around. But as Jesus walked on this earth, equally holy and human, we see a shining example of how we can walk in obedience just like him.

The One who existed, the One Truth, the One God - these are just a few phrases that describe God in the book of 1 John. This book of the Bible is certainly a hard one to swallow with its absolute claims that are so counter-cultural. But when we begin to digest it and see the truth of who God says He is, we’ll begin to see that there is a Truth and Love that towers above the rest. In a world filled with “feel good” quotes and ideals, 1 John helps us identify what is true and false.

When playing poker, the only information a player has is what’s in front of them. Their perspective is different than the others at the table. When it’s time to make a move, they must decide what move to make. Once convinced they're holding a winning hand, they can play the hand they’re dealt with confidence.

The same is true with our spiritual lives. Our involvement in spiritual growth is a great gauge of our beliefs. When we know and are convinced of what Jesus has done for us, then it’s easier to go all in.

At ACC we like to think of those cards as our 5 Catalysts: Worship Regularly, Grow Personally, Connect Relationally, Serve Sacrificially, and Give Generously. When we’re engaged and making steps towards these, then we can go all in and come out a winner. The more confident we are in our individual faith, the more willing we’ll be to invest in eternity.

Today kicks off a new series: All In. In this series, we are going to examine the 5 "catalysts" at ACC. A catalyst is something that causes a change in something else, even though the catalyst itself does not change. The catalysts we will examine over the next five weeks are things that affect our experience as Christians at ACC.

Today's topic, our first catalyst, is WORSHIP. The purpose of worship - glorifying God - never changes, but how we worship changes us. Today we will study the elements of worship, how to worship, why to worship, and who should be involved in worship.
