5. Running with Giants - Moses
July 16, 2018 08:09 AM PDT
Today Pastor Matt continues the "Running with Giants" series with our next biblical hero, Moses, so that we can decide whether to focus on comfort or to focus on faith. Moses gave up a life of luxury and comfort to lead his people, because he focused on faith and obeyed God's call.
Can we do the same? What does it mean to focus on faith?4. Running with Giants - David
July 08, 2018 08:19 AM PDT
Today Worship Arts Pastor Dustin will continue our "Running with Giants" series with a lesson on our next giant of faith, David. This shepherd turned king was a man of great faith, but also many failures, and as Pastor Dustin will show us, his story can speak to our lives that failure is not the end of our faith journey - because of Jesus.3. Running with Giants - Esther
July 01, 2018 08:33 AM PDT
Zach Gibson is back today to bring us a message on Esther. He'll be discussing how God has given each of us a purpose and how we can discern what that purpose may be.2. Running with Giants - John the Baptist
June 24, 2018 08:15 AM PDT
Today Pastor Matt continues the "Running with Giants" series. Today's giant is John the Baptist, who was Jesus' first cousin once removed (Jesus' mother's cousin's son), a humble man who prepared the way for Jesus by baptizing people and speaking of Jesus coming.
What is amazing about this giant of faith is that even though he knew and had faith the Messiah was coming, he still had doubts, too! Our lesson from John the Baptist is how to overcome doubt and hold to our faith.1. Running with Giants - Joseph
June 17, 2018 08:27 AM PDT
Today Pastor Matt kicks off our new series "Running with Giants" where we will study a different "giant" from the Bible each week. This week's focus is Joseph, to learn how he never gave up his dream and would not let himself quit.1. Overflow
June 10, 2018 08:26 AM PDT
Today Pastor Matt will be preaching a lesson called "Overflow" to show us how God returns what we give to him with interest, just like a bank account does. This results in an overflow of blessings for us and spreads his good news through the community and the world.4. Director's Chair - Taking Direction from Yourself
June 03, 2018 08:22 AM PDT
Today Pastor Matt wraps up our Director's Chair series with a lesson called "Taking Direction from Yourself." In the past few weeks, we've learned how dangerous it is to let things from this world or other people site in our director's chair -- to control our lives, our thoughts, and our actions. But what about us? What happens when we listen to ourselves more than we listen to Jesus? Do we really know what is best for ourselves? Are we fit to sit in our director's chair?
See why we should follow Jesus instead of trying to figure it all out for ourselves!3. Director's Chair - Others
May 27, 2018 08:12 AM PDT
Today Pastor Chris takes the pulpit to continue our "Director's Chair" series with a message about "Others." In the past couple of weeks we've learned that there is a director's chair in our lives that Jesus is supposed to sit in, but that we sometimes let Satan (in the form of worldly desires) sit in that chair and direct our lives away from God. This week we will learn what happens when we let other people sit in that chair instead of Jesus.2. Director's Chair - Taking Direction from the World
May 20, 2018 08:21 AM PDT
Today Pastor Matt will continue our Director's Chair series with a message about "Taking Direction from the World." Last week we learned that similar to a movie, there is a director's chair for our life, and only one person or thing can sit in that chair - only one master can control our life. We learned that we have to know who Jesus is if we want him to sit in that chair and reign over us.
This week we will learn how important it is not to let the world (or the ruler of the world, Satan) to sit in that chair. Through Paul's letter to the church at Colossae (the book of Colossians in the Bible), we will learn how that is Satan's biggest goal - to convince us that the things in this world should be more important than our relationship with Christ.1. Director's Chair - There is a Chair
May 13, 2018 08:26 AM PDT
Today Pastor Matt will kick off a new series called "Director's Chair" with a lesson called "There is a Chair." This book is one of the letters the Apostle Paul wrote while he was in prison, sent to the new church in Colossae to explain how Jesus and God are one being united, and therefore Jesus is the supreme ruler of our lives. The metaphor in this series uses the director's chair from a movie as similar to the throne of God, and asks who sits in this chair -- who is directing your life?
